There has been a lot of interest in the blogosphere about the appointment, consecration and enthronement of the new Bishop of Portsmouth, Mgr Philip Egan. As his diocese extends as far north as Oxford, and includes the parish of Holy Rood in Abingdon Road he is clearly of interest to Catholics here.
