The death today of Prince Philip has already produced tributes and obituaries and I cannot claim the ability to say more than others better placed than myself have or will say.
What one can say is simply to give thanks for an exceptional life lived to the full in the service of the Crown, the country and the Commonwealth, and as a loyal and dutiful husband. For all that we can and should all be grateful and pray for the repose of his soul and for the Queen and the Royal Family in their sorrow.
